Have you ever thought like been learning for a long long time and at the end you feel there is no progress and just stayed at same place where you were when you started your journey.

you are not alone, Every mature whom you see learning new things quickly and building things has been in a situation where you currently are.

They have just grown up enough to see the difference and have right parameters to evaluate themselves.

Here I will discuss some key-points that you can have with yourself to trach your progress.

1. Never compare yourself to someone far ahead of you

As beginner you always see someone way better than you and try to be like them whether he is someone senior , your classmate who knows things better

better than you, you always try to compete with that person but he is way more ahead than you , obviously you should learn from people better that you.

but can't be someone who standing next to him in vey next moment.

2. Always compare yourself to your past self

The only meaningful comparison is with who you were yesterday, a week ago, or a few months ago. Ask yourself:

  • What can I do now that I couldn’t before?
  • What concepts are clearer?
  • What problems can I solve faster or more confidently?

Even small improvements count. Progress is often silent and slow — but it's real.

3. Track your wins, even the small ones

Keep a journal or a note where you record small milestones:

  • Solved a problem you were stuck on
  • Understood a concept after struggling with it
  • Built a simple project
  • Helped someone else understand something

These tiny wins are easy to forget but are powerful reminders that you are moving forward. Over time, they’ll paint a picture of growth that can’t be seen in day-to-day reflection.

Remember: Growth isn’t linear, and it often doesn’t feel obvious. But if you’re showing up, doing the work, and staying curious, you are progressing. You’re not where you started — you’re just in the middle of the story. Keep going.
